Agoprex Tab (Agomelatine) is a melatonergic and serotonergic agent. It acts as a melatonin receptor agonist (MT1 and MT2) and a serotonin receptor antagonist (5-HT2C). This dual mechanism helps regulate the circadian rhythm and improve serotonin neurotransmission, contributing to the alleviation of depressive symptoms.
Store below 25°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
The usual starting dose is 25mg once daily, taken in the evening.
The dose may be increased to 50mg once daily after a few weeks if necessary, based on clinical response and tolerability.

Alcohol consumption should be avoided or minimized while taking agomelatine, as it can potentiate sedative effects.
Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how agomelatine affects you, especially during the initial stages of treatment. Drowsiness is a potential side effect.
Consult your doctor before using agomelatine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. The safety of agomelatine during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established.
Agomelatine is not approved for use in children and adolescents.
Dose adjustment may be necessary in patients with severe kidney impairment. Consult your doctor.
Agomelatine is metabolized by the liver. Patients with severe liver impairment should not use this medicine. Liver function tests are recommended before starting treatment and periodically during therapy.
