Chronic angina (chest pain) in patients who still experience angina despite optimal therapy with betablockers, calcium channel blockers, and nitrates.
Ranx 1000mg Tab (Ranolazine) works by inhibiting the late sodium current in cardiac myocytes. This reduces the amount of calcium that enters the cells during excitation-contraction coupling, thus decreasing myocardial oxygen demand and reducing angina symptoms. It doesn't directly affect heart rate or blood pressure significantly.
Store at room temperature (20-25°C) in a tightly closed container, away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
The starting dose is usually 500 mg twice daily. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response and tolerance.
Take with or without food, but take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.
Do not abruptly stop taking ranolazine. Your doctor should gradually reduce your dosage if discontinuation is necessary to avoid potential complications.
QT interval prolongation (a heart rhythm abnormality; requires monitoring)

Headache
Rarely, serious liver problems.
Limit or avoid alcohol consumption while taking ranolazine, as it can increase the risk of side effects.
Ranolazine may cause dizziness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Consult your doctor before taking ranolazine if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant. The safety of ranolazine in pregnancy and breastfeeding hasn't been fully established.
Not indicated for use in children.
Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with kidney impairment.
Dose adjustment or discontinuation may be needed in patients with severe liver impairment. Liver function tests should be monitored regularly.
