This combination medication works by addressing high blood pressure through multiple mechanisms. Chlortalidone increases urine output, reducing blood volume. Metoprolol slows the heart rate and relaxes blood vessels. Telmisartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. The combined effect leads to a significant reduction in blood pressure.
