Nortum 100mg Tablet (Norfloxacin) works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication and repair. This inhibits bacterial growth and ultimately leads to bacterial cell death.
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage varies depending on the infection being treated and the patient's condition. Always follow your doctor's prescription.
Norfloxacin is usually taken orally, with or without food.
Complete the full course of antibiotics, even if symptoms improve, to prevent the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Avoid alcohol consumption while taking norfloxacin, as it can increase the risk of side effects.
Norfloxacin may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Norfloxacin is generally not recommended for pregnant women, especially during the first and third trimesters, due to potential risks to the developing fetus. Consult your doctor. Use is generally discouraged during breastfeeding.
Use in children should be carefully considered and only prescribed by a physician when the benefits clearly outweigh the risks.
Norfloxacin is excreted by the kidneys. Dosage adjustments may be necessary for patients with impaired kidney function.
