Ornigyl Iv 100ml (Ornidazole) is a nitroimidazole derivative. It works by disrupting the DNA of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, leading to their death. The exact mechanism involves the reduction of the nitro group within the drug by bacterial enzymes, generating toxic metabolites that damage DNA and inhibit protein synthesis.
