Ambroxol increases mucus secretion and reduces its viscosity, facilitating its expulsion. Dextromethorphan acts centrally in the brain to suppress the cough reflex. Menthol provides a local anesthetic effect and cooling sensation. Phenylephrine acts peripherally by causing vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing congestion.
