Treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including skin and skin structure infections (e.g., impetigo, cellulitis), respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis), urinary tract infections (UTIs), and bone and joint infections.
Treatment of certain types of otitis media (middle ear infection) in children.
Phlex 250mg Tab (Cephalexin) inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death. It is bactericidal (kills bacteria). Its effectiveness depends on the susceptibility of the infecting bacteria.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.
Dosage is determined by the physician based on the type and severity of the infection, patient's age, weight, and kidney function.
Usually administered orally (by mouth), with or without food.
Complete the full course of antibiotics, even if you feel better, to prevent recurrence of infection.
Never share your prescription medication.
Rare but serious: Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), seizures, colitis, liver damage.
