Meropenem

Meropenem is a type of antibiotic called a carbapenem.It works by killing bacteria that cause infections.

Meropenem is used to treat serious bacterial infections in many parts of the body, including:

Lung infections (pneumonia)

Skin infections

Urinary tract infections

Infections in the abdomen

Bloodstream infections (sepsis)

Meningitis (infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord)

Plugpen Inj 1gm (Meropenem) works by interfering with the formation of bacterial cell walls, which are essential for bacterial survival. By disrupting this process, meropenem effectively kills the bacteria causing the infection.

Store Meropenem at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets. Do not use it after the expiration date printed on the label.

The dosage of Meropenem will vary depending on your age, weight, and the severity of your infection.

It is usually given by intravenous (IV) infusion, which means it is injected directly into a vein.
