Amlodipine

A calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Chlortalidone

A thiazide diuretic that increases urine production, reducing blood volume and blood pressure.

Telmisartan

An angiotensin ii receptor blocker (arb) that blocks the effects of a hormone that narrows blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients who have not adequately responded to monotherapy.

May be used as initial therapy in patients with hypertension requiring multiple drug therapy.

This combination drug works synergistically. Amlodipine relaxes blood vessels. Chlorthalidone removes excess fluid and sodium. Telmisartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels. This combined effect leads to a significant reduction in blood pressure.
